About RayLedger

Last updated: September 17, 2026

RayLedger is an independent buyer's guide for at-home red light therapy devices. We exist because the category is drowning in hype: every brand promises transformation, few explain their hardware, and buyers are left comparing marketing claims instead of devices.

We do the boring work — reading spec sheets, comparing formats, checking warranties and eye-safety provisions — so you can buy with a clear head.

Our methodology

We assess each device category on five criteria:

  • Design and build quality — materials, fit and finish, mounting and storage
  • Spec-sheet transparency — published wavelengths, stated measurement conditions, honest marketing
  • Session usability — controls, timers, how the device fits into a home routine
  • Warranty and support — stated warranty length, coverage terms, reachable support
  • Eye-safety provisions — included eyewear, eye openings, session timers, published safety guidance

We re-check our roundups quarterly and update assessments when brands change models, specs, or warranty terms. Rankings reflect our independent editorial judgment — commissions never buy placement.

What we don't do

  • We don't make medical claims. These devices are marketed for general wellness; we describe what they are, how people use them, and what to compare — never what they'll do for your health.
  • We don't claim FDA clearance for devices. Regulatory status varies by brand and model; check the manufacturer's product page.
  • We don't invent specs, prices, or test results. If a brand doesn't publish a number, we say so rather than guessing.
  • We don't publish before-and-after claims or testimonials presented as typical results.
